Airport madness
On my way back to Sofia, my plane missed it's slot so we found ourselves waiting for an hour on the runway for a few second opening in between the other scheduled flights and the authorization to finally jet off. This gave us plenty of time to iscover for ourselves the reason why Heathrow is ranked as the busiest airport in the European Union (and fourth in the world).
This line disappeared in a little over 5 min. It is said that an aircraft currently arrives or leaves Heathrow every 45 seconds. So appox 960 flights a day land at Heathrow which = 350,400 per year.
If I am not mistaking this should be terminal 5. It was recently opened by Queen Elizabeth II and is currently used as a global hub exclusively by British Airways.
